Take A Family Trip To The McKee Botanical Gardens

McKee Botanical Gardens came from the vision of Arthur McKee and Waldo Sexton. The two land developers purchased the 80-acre tropical hammock in 1922. The intention was to cultivate citrus. But the property's natural beauty was so special that they decided to keep it as it was.

McKee and Sexton hired landscape architect William Lyman Phillips to design the basic infrastructure for the property. They also focused on assembling their now award-winning orchid and waterlily collection. Currently, McKee Jungle Gardens is one of the most popular attractions in Florida.
